Ingredients
  

  • 1 ripe banana, peeled and sliced
  • 1 cup fresh spinach, packed
  • 1/2 cup chopped kale, stems removed
  • 1/2 cup cucumber, peeled and chopped
  • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk
  • 1/2 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (about 2 lemons)
  • 1 tbsp honey or maple syrup (optional, to taste)
  • 1/2 inch piece of fresh ginger, peeled and grated
  • 1/2 cup ice cubes

Method
 

  1. Add the sliced banana, spinach, kale, and cucumber to a high-speed blender.
  2. Pour in the almond milk and fresh lemon juice to help everything blend smoothly.
  3. Add honey or maple syrup if you'd like a touch of sweetness, then drop in the grated ginger for a zesty kick.
  4. Toss in the ice cubes last so they blend more evenly.
  5. Blend on high speed for about 60 seconds, or until smooth and creamy with no leafy bits.
  6. Taste and adjust sweetness if needed; add more honey or lemon juice to suit your preference.
  7. Pour into a tall glass and enjoy immediately for the freshest flavor and best texture.
